RAE’s Newest Graduate

Captain Lars Wallis, USN (ret) is a Senior Technology Transition Manger at RAE.  He supports the transition of technologies associated with NAVAIR for the Office of Naval Research’s (ONR) Rapid Technology Transition Program.  Lars has managed over 16 successful transitions of aviation technologies into the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

On Friday May 14th, Captain Wallis, had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to wear his uniform one more time on the occasion of the commissioning of his youngest daughter Emily, as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy.

Emily graduated from the Pennsylvania State University as an aerospace engineer while enrolled as a Midshipman on a Navy Reserve Officer Training Candidate scholarship.  Emily will report to Pensacola Naval Air Station in September 2010 to begin her career as a commissioned officer and naval aviator.

Lars’ family includes his oldest daughter Abigail, a mechanical engineer employed by a Washington area defense contractor, and his wife Karen.  Karen, like Lars, is a retired Navy helicopter pilot, and is also employed as a Defense consultant.
