Operations Research Analyst

Job Description

This individual will work independently, or as a member of a technical team, interacting with high level sponsors. Primary tasks will be to perform analysis that directly supports decision makers with respect to predicting system performance, quantifying uncertainty, and/or determining optimal allocations of resources and portfolio selections.

This position requires a person to have a general grasp of scientific principles and technology, and be able to apply that understanding to the consideration of technical solutions to meet customer needs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzing and evaluating component technologies is key to the successful transition of technology. We are seeking an OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST to join our team. This individual will work independently, or as a member of a technical team, interacting with high level sponsors.

Primary tasks will be to perform analysis that will support decision makers in predicting systems
performance, quantifying uncertainty, and/or determining optimal allocations of resources and
portfolio selections.

 Specific duties include assembling, preparing, and analyzing data for:

  • Studies
  • Statistical models
  • Evaluations
  • System requirements

Candidates will work closely with end users to determine business needs, provide technical advice and operating assistance in interpreting results, and provide input or prepare technical reports based on interpretation of analyzed data.

Security Clearance Requirements

This position requires a Secret Clearance as a minimum.

Work Environment

This work is performed primarily in an office setting, although some travel may be required.

Qualifications

Selected candidates will have:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to deal with ambiguous situations

Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater (in appropriate field)
  • 5-10 years experience
